Aldi Expands Solar and Battery Offerings in Western Australia and South Australia
The discount supermarket chain Aldi has introduced its solar and battery package in Western Australia and South Australia, broadening its initiative to six states and territories throughout the nation.
Aldi initially rolled out its solar and battery services in Melbourne at the beginning of 2025, subsequently extending the programme to New South Wales, Queensland, and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) within the same year.
Affordable Options Amidst Rising Energy Costs
With this latest launch, residents in major urban centres of South Australia and Western Australia can now take advantage of budget-friendly solar and battery solutions, as energy prices continue to increase across the country.
The most economical package features a 5 kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, paired with a 7 kilowatt (kW) solar panel and a 6 kW smart hybrid inverter, all for a total of $7,499, including installation.

Highlighting the attractive payback period, he emphasised, “We’re making it more accessible for residents of South and Western Australia to enhance their homes and take advantage of renewable energy.”
Collaborative Efforts to Enhance Accessibility
Aldi’s solar initiative is developed in collaboration with its supply partner, Tempo Group. Aldi Solar integrates what the company calls “clear pricing, certified installation, and versatile battery choices” to facilitate a seamless transition for households moving to solar energy.
Customers can select from a range of four battery capacities (5, 10, 15, & 20 kWh) to fit their requirements and budgets, available alongside either a 7 kW or 7.9 kW solar system and a 6 kW inverter.
Additionally, those who already have solar panels installed can opt for a battery-only package to enhance their current setup.
