ClearVue Technologies Achieves Key Certification for Solar Junction Box
ClearVue Technologies, a smart building materials firm based in Perth, has successfully obtained international certification for its thermal management junction box. This milestone marks a significant advancement in the global rollout of the company’s building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) products.
The company has refined its cutting-edge solar façade technology, positioning it as a key player in the push towards net zero buildings.
Certification Milestone Achieved
On Tuesday, the ASX-listed ClearVue announced that it received certification from TÜV SÜD, a leading global certification authority, for its CPV Thermal Management Junction Box designed for solar panels. This particular model, CV-JB-SGT-001, achieved compliance with the international standard IEC 62790, which regulates junction boxes for photovoltaic modules.
The thermal management junction box serves as a crucial electrical component in ClearVue’s BIPV assemblies, effectively managing the heat generated by the electronics in the façade of solar panels.
Robust Design Features
This junction box is designed with water-proofing rated at IP68, enabling it to withstand immersion in water up to 1.5 metres for half an hour without loss of functionality. This resilience maintains the overall IP68 rating across each ClearVue panel system.
Securing IEC 62790 certification validates that the thermal management junction box meets stringent safety, durability, and performance criteria required by international markets. This achievement ensures that ClearVue can further its efforts in deploying its solar technology in a variety of commercial and architectural projects worldwide.
Doug Hunt, the CEO and managing director of ClearVue, expressed his thoughts on this achievement: “Obtaining TÜV SÜD certification for our CPV Thermal Management Junction Box is a vital milestone for ClearVue,” he stated.
He elaborated that the product was conceived entirely in-house, with its distinctive features providing a significant competitive edge. “We crafted this component to seamlessly integrate BIPV into existing framing systems, while also ensuring it supports the most prevalent installation techniques for cladding and curtain wall applications reliably for over 30 years,” Hunt added. “This successful certification underscores ClearVue’s capability to design, manufacture, and certify custom components that address the complexities of full integration into building façades.”
