Winaico Launches Ultra Black Glass-Glass Solar Module in Australia
Premium solar panel manufacturer Winaico has introduced its latest innovation, the “ultra black” glass-glass solar module, to the markets of Australia and New Zealand, boasting an impressive module efficiency of up to 23.5 per cent.
As a subsidiary of the Taiwanese company Win Win Precision Technology, Winaico has launched the WST-480BDX54-B2 Ultra Black Glass-Glass module specifically for residential use in these regions. The module will initially be available with a power output of 475 watts.
Advanced Features and Performance
This new solar panel features a remarkable efficiency rating of up to 23.5 per cent, a temperature coefficient of just -0.26 per cent/°C, and offers up to 20 per cent bifacial gain, which Winaico claims represents a “significant leap” in solar technology performance.
Utilising back-contact cell technology, the module positions all electrodes on the rear, eliminating front-side gridlines and busbars. This design maximises light intake and absorption while providing a sleek, modern appearance ideal for residential rooftops.
Durability and Warranty
The WST-480BDX54-B2 module is constructed with semi-tempered solar glass on both the front and back, featuring an anti-reflective coating on the front and a partially black print on the rear. This design enhances durability and resistance to microcracks and environmental stress.
Additionally, the module is resistant to salt mist and is currently undergoing testing to ensure its suitability for cyclone conditions. Winaico also offers a robust 30-year product and performance warranty, along with two years of complimentary system insurance that covers not only the modules but also essential components such as batteries and inverters.
Blair Pester, managing director of Winaico Australia, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We’re incredibly excited to bring the WST-480BDX54-B2 to our local market. This module embodies the best of what WINAICO offers—reliability, design, and cutting-edge technology. With Clean Energy Council (CEC) listing well underway, we’re expecting local availability by late September, just in time for the spring solar rush.”
The new WST-480BDX54-B2 Ultra Black Glass-Glass modules will be accessible through Winaico’s established distribution partners throughout Australia and New Zealand.
